We are seeking a Grants Manager to assist in finding, writing and managing of grants in line with the company strategy. This position will combine the ability to understand the technical, scientific and medical concepts at a high level with good commercial awareness. The ability to communicate to a wide range of stakeholders, both verbally and in written form is essential. This role can offer flexible to part-time working, subject to external deadlines. It is expected that this role would be approximately 50% full-time equivalent on average, with potential for this role to be expanded if desired. The Grants Manager will work within the Science and Medical Technologies team but will be expected to engage across the business, particularly with Product Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of grant applications in collaboration with the research team.
  • Management and administration of live grants, working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working with the Finance Team to prepare periodic reports in line with sponsor terms and conditions.
  • Liaising with external institutions/collaborators/partners on a grant.
  • Keep up to date with upcoming funding opportunities

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

Essential Skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse number of stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Ability to develop high quality written submissions on technical subjects
  • Ability to evolve new proposals that are innovative and align with the core mission
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Numerically competent
Advantageous Skills
  • A graduate degree or higher
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Background in a scientific/clinical role
  • Experience in developing business plans
  • Experience in the delivery of complex written documentation with a financial element
  • Project management
