As a Graduate Software Test Engineer, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in all project activities related to software application development, including: Analysis, Designing, Development, Testing and supporting software solutions for our clients.

In this role, you’ll specialise in the testing discipline; with influence over your own Learning and Development plan we’ll support your development through coaching, training and experience on real-time projects.

Job summary

The Software Development department is responsible for the delivery of medical software products sold directly to end users under Mirada’s brand, integrated in other vendors’ solutions or custom built as contracted. The department collaborates with the Quality and Regulatory department to ensure that products are manufactured to the required standards for the countries where they are sold, and with the Science and Product Managers to ensure all Mirada products contain the required functionality and satisfies the users’ needs.

Reporting to the Software Development manager, the Graduate Software Test Engineer works as part of a cross functional project development team throughout the entire software development lifecycle, designing, reviewing and executing tests to verify that the software meets its specification as well as validating it meets the intended use. They support all related test activities to help achieve successful and usable medical software product releases and continually improve the testing within the engineering department.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Designing and documenting test cases in line with requirements for clinical products
  • Formal test execution
  • Freeform/exploratory testing
  • Identifying and logging defects in Jira
  • Investigation into defects and validating solutions
  • Estimation and regular updating of progress of all tasks
  • Active participation in document and product reviews
  • Participating in company and functional improvement initiatives
  • Working individually or as part of a team, and interacting with all functional groups as required
  • Testing and validation of internal and 3rd party software
  • Pursue learning and self-development and sharing of knowledge with others
  • Support and maintenance activities for software issues including, where necessary, site-visits
  • Other reasonable tasks as requested

Key skills and competencies:

  • Keen interest in medical imaging application testing
  • Awareness of software development lifecycles, methodologies, software design practices and tools
  • Desire to learn about new technologies and working practices
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management, with ability to work to deadlines individually and as part of a team

Internal –

  • Project team members and management for product development
  • Science, Product Management and Product Specialist groups for product definition and research activities
  • Sales, Marketing and Customer Service groups for product delivery and handover

External –

  • Mirada customers, business partners and re-sellers to provide direct and indirect support to Mirada customers
